Job Description:
This job is likely to be an experienced leader with proven interpersonal skills who provides guidance to team members. Perform daily operations of plant/area to ensure SQDC, Flight Deck, Performance and People Leadership of assigned production line.Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy; understands concepts and functions with guidance of established policies or review of end results. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees, typically hourly populations. 

Safety: Actively observe, listen, and investigate safety concerns and address near misses.

Quality: Resolving quality issues on the shop floor by facilitating cross-functional teams to implement temporary and permanent countermeasures.  

Delivery: Motivate and coach team to meet customer expectations for output goals (TAKT), ensuring appropriate shop supplies to meet daily goals, and resource allocation.

Cost: Maintain standard WIP (work in process) and productivity. Overtime management, DLP (direct labor productivity).

FLIGHT DECK: drive continuous improvement (CI) through problem solving and action planning. Leading Daily Management by leader standard work.

Performance and People Leadership: Lead a team of skilled technicians for a cell or multiple cells within a business unit. Allocate manpower to align to critical work areas and functions. Coordinate training and development opportunities, provide frequent mentoring and coaching to direct reports, and deliver performance evaluation conversations.

Manage time and attendance, drive compliance by enforcing employee handbook, Spirit & the Letter, and local regulation and policies.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience leading a hourly workforce in a manufacturing environment). May be a Safety Sensitive role requiring participation in Drug Free Workplace.
