BAE Systems in Nashua, NH is looking for a Design Quality Director to build and lead ECS design quality function and team.

This will include hardware, software and firmware disciplines to optimize the engineering design and development process, ensure requirements are validated, influence new part selection and drive a robust change control process. The Design Quality Director provides technical and quality science expertise, providing peer level review to chief engineers, PLELs and PEMs as well as their teams, serving as a trusted partner and guide through APQP tools including DFMEA, establishment of key characteristics, and through prevention of issues via early engagement in the development process. As this is a new role to the organization, the ability to drive adoption of the design quality service model and the associated cultural change across the range of stakeholders will be critical as the team is constructed to provide highly impactful insights and influence at all levels through the organization in a highly collaborative manner. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, and possess excellent communication and presentation skills to address cross functional teams through all levels of the organization.

Job Requirements:

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's Degree in hardware, software or systems engineering or technical field with 12+ years of related work experience
Experience building and leading teams
Technical competency in hardware and software development
In depth experience with the quality sciences as well as program management
Strong problem solving and risk management skills as well as business and financial acumen will all be leveraged to ensure that the solutions meet the needs of the business and the warfighter

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Master's Degree in hardware, software or systems engineering or technical field
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance with ability to obtain special access clearances
Top Secret
10 years building and leading engineering or quality teams
Lean 6 Sigma Black Belt
Full life cycle experience, from personal design experience through full scale production of hardware, software or firmware
Program or product management including Agile development experience

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
