The Vance Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and aircraft servicing functions on assigned aircraft within an aircraft maintenance and operations environment and in accordance with applicable instructions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible to assigned Lead for accomplishing maintenance on equipment. Instructs mechanics in accomplishing work assignments, reviews, and completes aircraft forms documentation pertinent to maintenance.
- Ensures technical data and tool control are in use on all assignments and ensures work areas and equipment are kept clean and stored in proper places.
- Must be knowledgeable of section operations.
- Capable of filling in for Leadman in his absence and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for providing On-the-Job Training (OJT) in support of the Programs Master Training, Qualification, and Certification Program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years of maintenance experience as documented in training, employment record or DD214 on like assigned aircraft, engine, avionics systems, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) or,
- One (1) year of satisfactory performance working as a Mechanic Helper at Vance AFB or,
- Have an FAA Airframe, or Powerplant or,
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certifications or,
- Federal Communication Commission (FCC) license.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements for this position as stipulated in Appendix E of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
