Pratt & Whitneys Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization is seeking a goal-oriented and detail-focused Senior Project Engineer to support our Turbine Airfoil Casting Team (TACT).  The selected candidate will support the airfoil casting tooling qualification process as defined per PW-QA 6078, which is necessary to ensure the quality of Pratt & Whitneys engines.  In addition, the TACT supports process improvement efforts at casting suppliers and evaluates nonconformance in support of product delivery.  

What You Will Do:

• Manage logistical aspects (schedules, budget, communication, supplier requests) supporting disposition of airfoil casting tooling qualification packages per PW-QA 6078.
• Manage logistical aspects (schedules, budget, communication, supplier requests) supporting disposition of quality defects, many complex scopes, ensuring engineering excellence, and helping the team define the “Right-size Analysis” through a risk-based decision-making process.
• Influence multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering discipline Subject Matter Experts, design, operations, quality, and procurement to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements.
• Support time-critical quality issues in support of engine and module delivery.
• Track and drive to closure Class II engineering change packages to improve quality, cost, and producibility metrics.
• Incorporate Pro-Cert methodology and data-driven decision making into the Class II process.
• Drive continuous improvement into the product development cycle and design of next-generation hardware. 
• Travel up to 10 (Domestic and International).

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A Bachelor of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 5 years of experience in engineering, or an Advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience.
• U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• A Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Turbomachinery experience in Airfoil design or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, and classical methods of analysis.
• Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines.

• The Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization has the broad charter of making product design improvements and supporting Operations and the worldwide supplier base during PW’s unprecedented ramp-up in commercial jet engine production.  You will have front-line exposure and visibility to Operations and Supply Chain in terms of relationships, collaboration, and developing real-world solutions for how to produce the world’s most advanced engineered parts.  You will be allowed to grow into the position, to be fully supported on that growth path with education, support, training, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities with industry experts.

• Onsite (East Hartford, CT): Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
