This position is 100 onsite in Wichita, KS

Role Description:

The Mid-Level IT Business Partner serves as a critical liaison between the Information Technology department and assigned business units. This role is responsible for understanding business strategies, challenges, and opportunities, and translating them into effective IT solutions and services. The IT Business Partner will build and nurture strong relationships with business Executives and stakeholders, facilitate communication, manage expectations, and ensure IT initiatives deliver measurable business value. This position requires a blend of technical understanding, strong communication, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business needs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Relationship Management:
    • Create and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business Executives and their organizational leaders within assigned business unit(s).
    • Act as the primary IT point of contact for designated business area(s), ensuring a high level of satisfaction and trust with IT services and solutions.
    • Understand day-to-day operations, pain points, and strategic objectives of the assigned business organizations.
  • Understanding Business Needs and Solutioning:
    • Proactively engage with business teams to identify, analyze, and document their current and future IT needs, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Aid in translating business requirements into clear, concise, and actionable IT specifications and solution proposals.
    • Collaborate with various IT teams (e.g., Development, Infrastructure, Security, Data Analytics) to identify and evaluate appropriate technical solutions that align with business goals and IT strategy.
  • Project Support:
    • Support the intake, prioritization, and execution of IT projects within the assigned business units, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and IT roadmap.
    • Participate in project steering committees or working groups, representing both IT capabilities and business needs.
    • Assist in monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and facilitating issue resolution to ensure successful delivery.
    • Contribute to the development and management of the IT portfolio for the assigned business units, tracking value realization.
  • Communication & Expectation Management:
    • Facilitate clear and consistent communication between IT and business stakeholders, ensuring transparency on IT initiatives, priorities and project status.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding IT capabilities, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Present IT concepts and proposals to non-technical audiences in an understandable and engaging manner.
  • Strategic Alignment & Value Realization:
    • Ensure that IT initiatives and solutions align with the overall business strategy and contribute to achieving organizational objectives.
    • Help the business understand the value and impact of IT initiatives and investments.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation through technology.
  • IT Service Management & Continuous Improvement:
    • Act as an escalation point for significant IT service issues, coordinating with IT operations and support teams to ensure timely resolution.
    • Gather feedback from business on IT service quality and identify areas for improvement.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT Business Partnering processes and practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in related IT discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT role with direct exposure to business executives and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment, facilitating collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.
  • General understanding of enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and current technology trends (e.g., cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity).
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and IT service management (ITSM) best practices.

  • Negotiation & Influence: Skill in navigating differing opinions and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders effectively.
