Position Summary
The AOG Planner is responsible for the end-to-end planning, scheduling, and resource coordination required to resolve Aircraft on Ground events quickly and efficiently. This role ensures that the right technicians, parts, tooling, and information are deployed to the right place at the right time, with minimal downtime to the customer’s aircraft. Operating in a high-pressure, 24/7/365 environment, the AOG Planner plays a central role in orchestrating service response, maintaining accurate job tracking, and communicating status updates to both internal teams and external clients.
This position will not require physical maintenance to be performed on the aircraft.
Essential Functions

- Plan and schedule AOG field maintenance responses, ensuring alignment of manpower, tooling, and materials for rapid aircraft return-to-service (RTS).
- Coordinate travel and logistics for field technicians, including lodging and transportation, to support on-site maintenance events in various locations.
- Initiate and manage work orders in maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Corridor), maintaining clear and accurate service event records.
- Track AOG events in real time, adjusting resource allocation and job sequencing to adapt to evolving conditions.
- Ensure part and tooling availability by coordinating with supply chain, vendors, and shipping services for expedited delivery to field locations.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal teams and customers during active AOG events, providing timely updates on status, ETA, and completion.
- Maintain an AOG performance dashboard to track response times, downtime, and closure rates for operational improvement.
- Support post-event debriefs and reporting, identifying process improvements and lessons learned.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the AOG department’s mission.
Work Environment
- Primarily office environment, with occasional travel for operational support or training.
- Extended or irregular hours may be required to meet AOG response needs.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, email, and virtual platforms.
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching as required to carry out routine office tasks.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move office supplies or equipment up to 15–20 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close vision for computer and paperwork.
